TERRACOTTA HOUSE | COIMBATORE

The house was designed around the family’s aspiration, creating an enriching experience. The traditional Indian system of measurement (Ayadi) was used meticulously to formulate the spatial dimension and volumetric proportion. The architectural vocabulary was ideated with clean white geometric forms incorporated with terracotta jaali screens, exposed brick walls, and Kota stone flooring to regulate the indoor temperature, improving natural ventilation from prevailing wind directions and providing shade during harsh sun. The overall built form seamlessly embraces the native roots with contemporary sensibilities.
